Lead Poisining
You can do simple plumbing repairs, such as
replacing washers in a faucet or removing and
cleaning a trap or clogged line as the need arises, but
you may need a permit or license to do larger jobs,
such as adding new pipes for a bathroom. Check with
your local  authorities before attempting a large job.

In some homes the electrical system uses steel or
copper cold water pipes as a ground. Before splicing
any plastic pipe into the line make sure it is not used
as a  ground. If it is, use a grounding wire to go from
metal pipe to metal pipe bridging where you replaced
it with plastic pipe.
