Using power tools properly will require some precautions:
- Make sure that the tool you are using is double insulated and properly
grounded.
- Do not operate a tool if you are tired or under the influence.
- Mentally run through safety procedures before turning the tool on.
- Never ignore or remove safety devices, such as blade guards.
- Do not saw wet wood, warped or knotty.
- Check wood before cutting for nails, screws or loose knots.
- Support large workpieces when cutting or drilling.
- Clamp all work securely in place.
- Use feather boards, push sticks or jigs to move past blade.
- Do not leave foreign items in way.
- Make sure to remove adjusting wrenches or keys before turning tool on.
- Never operate a power tool while standing in water.
- Keep children and pets clear of work area.
- Make sure power cords are not in the way.
- Stand to side of saw in case blade binds and causes kick back.
- When finished with tool turn off right away.
- Never clear scraps with hand, use a stick or other device.
